Sky Observatory, the Latest Attraction in the Heart of Seoul

In July 2026, the Seoul City Hall Sky Observatory opened in the heart of Seoul, offering panoramic views that capture both the city’s modern skyline and its historic architecture at a glance.

Located on the 8th and 9th floors of the west wing of the Seoul City Hall main building, the observatory provides a 360-degree view of surrounding landmarks. Visitors can take in major attractions such as Deoksugung Palace, Jeongdong Street, Seoul Plaza, and Sungnyemun Gate to the south, as well as Gwanghwamun Plaza and Bugaksan Mountain to the north. Inside are the Sky Plaza Café, a gallery, and rest areas, offering a place to unwind during a visit. Admission is free, and no reservation is required.

The observatory can be accessed via an elevator on the 1st floor of Seoul City Hall, which is directly connected to Exit 5 of City Hall Station (Seoul Subway Lines 1 and 2). As one of the city’s newest attractions, it offers visitors a fresh perspective on Seoul.
